“Phonofolium et Lux” – Culture Night 2019
September 20 @ 6:30 pm - 11:30 pmFree
“Phonofolium et Lux”
The French Embassy participates in Culture Night 2019 with this Tech, Green and Family friendly event. Join in for an exciting evening of Digital Art!
Phonofolium et Lux is an interactive & immersive artwork by French artists Scenocosme who will bring to life the façade at 66 Merrion Square. Discover a living tree that reacts with sounds and lights to the human electrostatic contact!
When the audience caresses the shrub, different sounds and lights are revealed. The intensity of the light varies according to the proximity of the contact with the tree. In the darkness, the tree is only lit by small spotlights. The interactions of the spectator with the tree illuminate and highlight the architecture of the space around it.
This extraordinary sensory experience questions our invisible energy relationships with living beings. By making audible and visible what escapes our perception, it reminds us that our environment is made of living beings, reactive to our biological aura. Plants are natural and living sensors, receptive to various energy flows that come from our bodies or their environment. The tree signifies its existence through a cry, a song, an acoustic vibration.
Admission Free – Outdoor Event – No Ticket or Booking required – All welcome!
